HTC Desire Apps – XDA-Developers
Android is for many of us not just an operating system, for many it’s their business, for many even a passion. Customizing your device, developing for your device, or counseling others. That’s what the XDA-developers community wrote on their banner. Everyone can be a part of it – beginners too. Usually the forum is available via xda-developers.com but the XDA administrators also developed a sweet Android application for mobile use. You’ll love it.
Favorite forums can be added (e.g. those for your device ), private messages can be written and much other stuff too. Just one thing, I don’t get: The application needs the rights to read the telephone calls. However, the developer has an email and hopefully I can answer you that question soon.
The premium version adds following features according to market.android.com:
+ No annoying ads!
+ Ability to collapse top bar to maximize screen real estate
+ Access to Legacy forums
+ Ability to add forum shortcuts to your Android homescreen for super quick access to your favorites
+ Custom XDA color scheme (changeable to default through Settings)
+ Choose whether to land on first post, last post, or first unread post within a given thread
Hopefully, I can review you these additional features soon - stay tuned!
To sum up, the free version is totally enough to browse through the forums and get some useful advices. It’s probably the best forum-reading app for Android I’ve ever used (that might be due to its specialism on only the single xda-forum). Still, some questions are there to be answered.
4 out of 5 points from me for that.
