Once you have a rooted HTC Desire you will want to customise you HTC Desire by installing a customised Rom.

When installing a Rom make sure you read the instructions before proceeding.

Here are few advantages of  having a custom rom installed,no pre-installed apks (more internal memory), ability to overclock (be careful),better battery settings, no 2 Roms are the same, you will need to experiment and find one that you are happy with.

Believe me you will be well pleased you rooted your HTC Desire, there is so much more that you can do.

I hear a lot of HTC Desire users rave on about CyanogenMod,but Idid not like it, I currently use Pays Desire Froyo Sense v2.2, but I will try anything once.

I have even installed a Gingerbread Rom but until it is stable I will not go back to it.
